formal writing living in the country is better than living in the city

In my opinion country living is way better than living in a crammed up noisy city block with no space to yourself. When you’re in the country you have plenty of space for yourself, clean air to breath peace and quiet.

The one issue that makes me love country living is the fact that it is quiet no noise unless you want to make the noise, there is the odd barking dog or sheep baaing and cows mooing but thats nothing capered to the noise a city makes. When living in the city there's nothing but noise cars constantly driving past and then there’s the trucks that drive practically all night and depending where you live there's the train which is pretty noisy in my ears when i stay at someone's house. so im with country living when it comes to the noise level.

Now the main issue is your life style there such a difference and i choose country living on this one too. to start of with the best way to explain a city is like a bee hive people are always on the move no matter what the time the traffic starts of at around 5 o'clock thats in the morning, thats for the buzz to get to work. Then there's the buzz at 5 o'clock at night when everyone's coming home from work and this is when the roads a bussy im not saying there not bussy during these times because they proberly are. Now in the country you still have to get up early especially if your a dairy farmer or if your live way out in the wop wops, but living in a country house you get a better homely cosy feel and in my opinion your less likely to get robed.

So when i sum it all up with the noise level and the life style difference i choose country living you get the peace and quiet with out having to screeming out of your window to tell someone to shut up your trying to sleep. And as a life style your not rusying around like a little bee trying to get somewhere because you have to leave exrta early becasue you have to bet the morning rush of traffic. So my altimite choose is country living because there is all these bonuses like space noise the list could go on.

Whale Rider Essay

Is the Whale Rider a legend?

In the novel The Whale Rider written by Witi Ihimaera I wanted to no if the story was a legend, which it is. Witi Ihimaera was inspired to write the story when he lived in New York. He was in his appartment looking over the hudson river where he saw a whale spouting out in the river which remined him of his peoples legend, the whale Rider.

The legend is about Paikea and his Grandfather Koro. Witi Ihimaera got the idea of this legend and most parts of the story line follows the legend but Ihimaera renewed the story and changed parts of it to make it his own. The legend is in New Zealand around Whangara and the story comes from the Whangara tribe.

The story starts of talking about how the land was found and how Paikea came to New Zealand on a huge Whale. And then moves onto the family of Koro, Paikea's Granfathers family. Koro eldest son Porourangi then has a child kahu a baby girl which makes Koro mad because Kahu was mean't to be a boy to take Koro's place. This was a change from the legend because in the legend it is a boy. Kahu 's mother dies after giving birth to kahu in the story so it is decided that kahu goes back to Kahu's mothers tribe to live and come back to Koro's for hoilays through the story kahu comes and stays at Koro's every holidays. As kahu gets older stanger things happen to her, things to do with the whales when finally towards the end when the big whale is stranded on the beach Kahu swims out to it and talks to it and asks it to get of the beach and rides of on its back out into the ocean. Koro finally relizes the big mistake he has made. eventually kahu returns and is taken to hospital and when she wakes she finally has the relationship she has always wanted with her koro.

Mosts parts in the story are true but the story does have differnet parts that the legend doesn't. Witi Ihimaera has change the legend to make it his own story .The real story is a legend from the whangara people.

braveheart Essay

BRAVEHEART
How well does the movie resemble the actual events?

In the movie Braveheart starring Mel Gibson the story was based on actual events that happened in the past. Most events that happened in the movie were true but there were a few parts in the movie that wern't.

One very big error was with Princess Isabella she was actually a thirteen year old girl living in france when william wallace was tortured adn killed in 1305 she didn't marry Prince Edward untill three years later in 1308 three years after William Wallace died. Isabella and Edwards marrage actually took place in Boulonge not london. this mistake was one of the biggets factual mistake they made in the movie, also was that Wallace sired Edward III, someone born seven years after his death.

Another mistake made in the movie was that it is portred that William Wallaces lowland scots men wore kilts and actually lowlanders didn't wear kilts. Scots didn't start wearing kilts until the 17th century and actually wore saffron shirt in bravehearts time.

These are just a few of the factual errors they made in the movie there are quite a few that were made in the making of this film, although most events in the movie actually happened. So braveheart does have a few factual errors but most events in the movie do resemble the actual events from the past.
